Zoe McCarthy
She/Her
Project Officer (Learning and Development)
Zoe McCarthy is a proud Dabee Wiradjuri and Māori woman currently living on Guringai land (Sydney’s Northern Beaches).
Zoe has grown up and worked on Guringai land and is passionate about empowering Indigenous communities and individuals. She currently sits as a Committee Member on the Aboriginal Support Group Manly Warringah Pittwater (ASGMWP), where she engages with the Northern Beaches community to embrace and learn more of Indigenous culture.
Zoe has completed a Bachelor of Human Science majoring in Community Services and minoring in Music at Macquarie University. During the 2020 lockdown, she homeschooled her younger sister, and wanted to continue to grow and develop new skills. With this motivation, she decided to move on to then complete her Certificate IV in Business Administration at TAFE NSW.
Throughout Zoe’s career, she’s been able to build strong connections to culture. Before AIGI, she worked with the CareerTrackers program, while also being an Alumni of the program. Zoe has fostered connections between culture and corporate Australia, advocating for increased representation of Indigenous talent in leadership roles. Zoe has been a participant in AIGI’s pilot Emerging Directors Program (EDP). The EDP is to foster a strong pipeline of capable and proud Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander company directors. This program revolves around Indigenous governance excellence, delivering quality education, and providing culturally empowering mentoring practices, all while ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the ecosystem.
Zoe supports the broader Learning and Development team in promoting and delivering all learning and development projects and initiatives.
