Kellie is a proud Gooreng Gooreng woman with Torres Strait Islander heritage from Darnley Island, Kellie is deeply committed to creating culturally safe pathways that empower First Nations peoples.
Kellie’s strong connection to Country, culture, and community underpins her belief in the collective strength and resilience of Australia’s First Nations communities. Kellie champions initiatives that foster learning, leadership, and development opportunities driven by mob for mob, inspiring cultural pride, self-determination, and personal growth for current and future generations.
Beginning her career as a middle-school teacher in Katherine, Northern Territory, Kellie worked closely with young people to nurture their aspirations. She also completed a Master of Education in Leadership & Management and Curriculum & Pedagogy, which supported her transition into leadership roles across both mainstream and remote settings, focused on educational and organisational change, particularly in First Nations engagement and youth development.
As Learning & Development Manager at AIGI, Kellie strategically leads a skilled team in the design and delivery of governance learning programs, ensuring they remain sustainable, culturally grounded, and future-focused while building internal capability and supporting youth initiatives.
Kellie currently lives and works in Toowoomba, Queensland on Jarowair and Giabal country.
