An organisation, community or nation needs clear policies and procedures to govern effectively and get things done. Many groups develop policies and procedures that suit their unique circumstances. These policies and procedures reflect cultural principles and values while also being practical.
There are two types of policies and procedures: governance (bigger picture) and operational (daily management).
Governance policies cover planning, leadership, organisation, and management. Operational policies cover complaints procedures, diversity, bullying and harassment, employment, human resources and managing staff.
