Kaleb’s work is grounded in culture, education and a commitment to ensuring community voices, knowledge and experiences are respected and reflected in the work that shapes their futures.

With experience across community development, cultural engagement, education and project delivery, Kaleb brings a strong understanding of the importance of working collaboratively with communities, organisations and institutions. He is particularly passionate about creating pathways that connect people, knowledge and opportunity, while ensuring cultural perspectives are embedded meaningfully rather than simply acknowledged.

Alongside his professional work, Kaleb continues to contribute to projects that preserve and share Indigenous stories and knowledge. He is the founder of Baizam le-Mabo Legacy, a purpose-led initiative honouring the enduring legacy of his grandfather, Eddie Koiki Mabo. Through this work, he brings together storytelling, education and innovation to share Koiki’s story and its significance with future generations.

Kaleb has also worked as a cultural consultant with organisations and institutions across Australia, contributed to the second edition of Dear Son, delivered guest lectures exploring the Torres Strait experience, and portrayed Koiki Mabo in ABC’s Judgement: Cases That Changed Australia in 2026.

Deeply grounded in culture and community, Kaleb is committed to creating work that has genuine purpose — supporting communities to tell their own stories, strengthen their own capabilities and shape their own futures.

Kaleb is currently a Project Specialist (Fee for Service) with the Australian Indigenous Governance Institute (AIGI), supporting work that strengthens capability, governance and outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
