Dr Jackie Huggins is a Bidjara (central Queensland) and Birri-Gubba Juru (North Queensland) woman from Queensland. Throughout her career spanning over four decades, Jackie has played a leading role in reconciliation, literacy, women’s issues and social justice.
Mr Ivan Ingram is a Wiradjuri and Filipino man from Parkes, New South Wales. He has previously worked as a Native Title lawyer and currently holds a management role at PwC Indigenous Consulting. Ivan will share perspectives around opportunity and succession planning for young people.
Mr Selwyn Button is a Gungarri man from the South West Queensland, raised in Cherbourg. Selwyn is currently the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations and will discuss emerging issues and trends in Indigenous Governance.
Ms Janine Mohamed is the Interim Cheif Executive Office of The Lowitja Institute and has over 20 years’ experience in nursing, management, and workforce and health policy. Janine is also a recipient of an Atlantic Fellow for Social Equity Fellowship in 2019. Janine will address the challenges and solutions around Cultural safety and effective Governance.
Glenda is a Larrakia/Wadjigan descent and his father is Central Arrente. Ms Glenda Humes is a descendant of the Gunditjmara people from the western districts of Victoria, and her grandmother’s people, the Jawoyn from the Northen Territory. Both Eddie and Glenda have been judges for the Indigenous Governance awards for the past 10 years and will share perspectives of success and change in our communities.
Mr Eddie Cubillo has strong family links in the Northen Territory. His mother is a Larrakia/Wadjigan descent and his father is Central Arrente. Ms Michelle Deshong draws connection to Kuku Yulanji nation in North Queensland. She is the CEO of the Australian Indigenous Governance Institute. Michelle will share insight into local and global perspectives of Indigenous Governance excellence.
